Following its success in Abu Dhabi, the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Concert is heading to Dubai this December to cast its spell.
A special screening of the first in the film series will be presented in high definition on a 12-metre screen, while the Czech National Symphony Orchestra performs John Williams’ score live.
About 6,000 people attended the Abu Dhabi event, encouraging the production team to bring the magic to Dubai as well.
“We heard our fans, and we are thrilled to announce that we are taking the hit show to Dubai Opera this December,” WhatsOn quoted ProActiv managing partner Nicolas Renna as saying.
“Having Harry Potter at the state-of-the-art Dubai Opera house will be an unforgettable experience for all Harry Potter, John Williams and classical music fans,” Renna added.
Four shows are to be held in the Dubai Opera from Dec. 7 to 9. The tickets start from Dh175 and may be bought through the Dubai Opera website, Platinum List and at Virgin Megastores.
“It is with great pleasure that we introduce for the first time ever an opportunity to experience the award-winning music scores played live by a symphony orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen. It will be an unforgettable event,” Gulf News quoted Justin Freer, Producer/Conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series.
