The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said businessman Atong Ang remains “armed and dangerous” as one of his registered firearms is still unaccounted for.
The Mandaluyong Police turned over Ang’s surrendered firearms to the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office, which include an M16 assault rifle, three semi-automatic pistols, and a revolver. Ammunition and magazines were also surrendered.
The PNP Firearms and Explosives Office revoked all firearms registered under Ang’s name on January 16, along with his permit to carry. However, citing Ang’s lawyer, the Mandaluyong Police said another M16 rifle has been missing since October 2025.
Authorities are working to confirm if the rifle is indeed unaccounted for, out of six firearms registered under his name.
Ang, a Type 5 license holder allowed to register more than five firearms, has not been located. The Mandaluyong Police continues to monitor his residence, where two arrest warrants have already been served.
Despite the surrender of his firearms, DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla still considers the 68-year-old businessman “armed and dangerous.”
Ang is currently the country’s most wanted fugitive, facing arrest warrants in connection with the kidnapping and homicide of multiple cockfighting enthusiasts (sabungeros).
