PH Embassy: No Filipinos hurt in Seoul bus crash

The Philippine Embassy in Korea reported that no Filipinos were injured after a bus crashed into a building in Seoul on Friday afternoon, an incident that left 13 people wounded.

In a Facebook advisory, the embassy said it coordinated with the Seodaemun Police Station following the crash.

“Based on initial reports, the Embassy is pleased to confirm that no Filipino nationals were injured or affected by the incident,” it said.

According to Korean news, two of the 13 injured were in serious condition. Footage aired by local broadcaster showed a stationary full-size passenger bus with its front embedded in what appeared to be the glass facade of a large building after mounting a wide section of the sidewalk.

The news cited the fire agency as saying the injured included the bus driver and two pedestrians, a woman in her 50s who sustained a leg fracture and a man in his 30s with a head injury.

The Philippine Embassy extended its sympathies and wished the injured and their families a speedy recovery. It also urged members of the Filipino community to remain vigilant, especially while traveling.

Filipinos were further advised to wear appropriate clothing as colder weather is expected in the coming days, noting that this would help ensure their safety and well-being.
