The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Region XII, in coordination with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Region XII, assisted in the evening repatriation of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) on January 15, 2026, ensuring the timely return of his remains to his family in SOCCSKSARGEN.
The DMW-OWWA XII team facilitated the arrival of the remains of the late Bimboy Ocado Cruzada, an OFW from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Polomolok, South Cotabato, who passed away due to a brain aneurysm.
His remains arrived at General Santos City International Airport aboard Philippine Airlines Flight PR2457 at 7:44 p.m. Upon arrival, the repatriation team formally turned over the remains to his grieving family, with assistance from relatives and the Local Government Unit of Polomolok, which provided transportation for the family.
To ensure continued support, DMW Region XII informed the family about available programs and services, including the documentary requirements for availing bereavement assistance under the AKSYON Fund. OWWA, through its Social Benefits Unit, also extended additional assistance to help the family cope during their time of loss.
DMW Region XII reaffirmed its commitment to providing compassionate and timely support to overseas Filipino workers and their families, especially during moments of grief and hardship.
