MWO-Dubai closes on Labor Day, offers alternative schedules

The Migrant Workers Office in Dubai has issued an advisory informing the public that it will be closed on May 1, 2024, Wednesday, in observance of Labor Day. The office released an alternative schedule for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) that may be affected.

For OFWs with confirmed flights on May 01, 2024, they may visit the office on April 30, 2024, from 7:30 in the morning until 2:30 in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, OFWs with confirmed flights on May 02, 2024, as well as OFWs with confirmed flights who were unable to have their documents verified before their flights on May 01 and May 02 are advised to visit MWO-Dubai on April 30, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. They may also opt to visit the office on May 02, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

If they are unavailable on the said dates, they may send an authorized representative to MWO-Dubai five days before their flight back to the UAE or three days before their OEC appointment in the Philippines.

REQUIREMENTS OF A VACATIONING OFW BOUND FOR PH

  • Passport
  • Emirates ID
  • Flight ticket/itinerary
  • Verified Contract (by MWO)
  • OWWA Membership
  • OEC (this will be processed in the PH but appointments can be booked in advance)
  • eTravel declaration (QR code)

HOW DO I GET MY CONTRACT VERIFIED?

There are four ways you can get your contract verified: through appointment, online, walk-in or an authorized representative

Here’s what you need to prepare before your appointment:

  • employment contract
  • salary certificate
  • copy of your passport
  • copy of your valid visa or Emirates ID

You may also need to prepare these additional documents: employment certificate, valid company ID, copy of your payslip for the past three months, and a valid labor card.

If you already have the complete requirements, you may proceed to any of the following:

APPOINTMENT-BASED VERIFICATION

For appointment-based on-site verification, here’s what you need to do:

  • Visit polodubaiportal.org and then find Contract Verification Info.
  • Click on “click here to know more” and then select “click here to set an appointment.”

If the appointment slots are filled up, you have the option to choose online contract verification instead.

ONLINE VERIFICATION

  • Visit the online portal at polodubaiportal.org every Monday.
  • Scroll down to find the latest notice announcing that there is a new form available for the week.
  • Click on it and you will be redirected to another page.
  • Click on “click here to apply.”
  • Read the instructions carefully and fill out the form accurately.

Online verification accepts 500 forms weekly, refreshing each Monday. The link closes when the limit has been reached or by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

THROUGH AN AUTHORIZED PERSON

If you’re unable to claim your verified contract in person, you can apply through online forms. Once approved, an authorized representative can pay and claim it on your behalf.

Here’s what your representative needs to bring:

1) Authorization Letter with ID of authorized person; 2) Copy of the e-mail notice of your approved application, and 3) Copy of your passport and Emirates ID.

WALK-IN APPOINTMENT

If you’re pressed for time, you can opt for a walk-in appointment, but it’s only advisable as a last resort. This option is available on-site and must be done one working day before your flight. If you don’t have an appointment, you’ll need to present your flight ticket and present complete requirements.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai also shared that it will be closed on May 01, 2024.
