The Dubai Police issued a warning alert on Monday as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) braced for unpredictable weather.
Residents were woken up by the alert prompting residents to stay safe and avoid outdoor activities.
“The city of Dubai is exposed to fluctuations in weather conditions. Please stay away from beaches, avoid areas of valleys, torrent flows, and low places, take caution while driving vehicles, and adhere to the instructions of the competent authorities (Dubai Police),” read the advisory.
In the early hours of Monday morning, thunderclaps startled many residents awake, accompanied by flashes of lightning.
Moderate to heavy rainfall drenched Dubai, while neighboring Abu Dhabi experienced heavy rain and hail in various areas.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has raised an orange weather alert, indicating the likelihood of turbulent conditions persisting across the UAE.

Cloud seeding operations are underway to enhance rainfall, with the NCM monitoring cloud movements closely.
Residents are advised to stay informed through official channels and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of erratic weather.
