The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has reported that it successfully completed its first scheduled corrective maintenance activity on its air navigation system without any flight disruptions.
In an advisory released on Wednesday, CAAP said: “Maintenance work on the AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) was completed at around 03:27am without disruption…Notam (notice to airmen) lifted, flight operations normal.”
On Tuesday, CAAP has announced that the corrective maintenance activity was set for May 3, 2:00am to 4:00am, at the Philippine Air Traffic Management Center.
Meanwhile, the Manila International Airport Authority noted that it did not receive any report on flight delays caused by the two-hour maintenance.
Another activity is scheduled on May 17 from 12 midnight to 6am with the anticipated shut down of the Philippine airspace for the entire duration.
The CAAP has discussed with stakeholders mitigating measures and flight schedule adjustments to ensure the smooth conduct of the maintenance work.
Moreover, it has assured the public that once completed, operations will resume as normal and will allow the flying public to have a better service and continued safe flight.
