The Ras Al Khaimah Appeal Court has acquitted a woman of charges of misusing her husband’s ID card to transfer her residency visa to a company.
The court revoked the Court of First Instance’s earlier decision on the case of the 36-year-old Asian woman, who was sentenced to three months in jail to be followed by subsequent deportation.
The lawsuit was filed by the husband who intended to cancel their family’s residency in the UAE and send them back to their home country after having some marital issues.
As the woman wanted to stay, she decided to transfer her residency from her husband to a company. She presented the identity card of her husband to the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and the residency transfer was approved.
However, the husband accused the wife of deceiving him and using his documents without his knowledge.
The daughter testified in favor of her mother.
