Duterte orders barangay officials to check who among their constituents remain to be unvaccinated and tell them to stay at home.
“In the absence of the law eh yung presidente is called upon to act and because it is a national emergency it is my position that we can restrain and that I have order the barangay captains because under the law ang barangay captains can enforce all the laws of the land within his community” Duterte said.
The president said that civilians can also help officials in monitoring the movement of the unvaccinated.
Duterte adds he is not worried should his order becomes another ground for an ICC case.

“Well they can file cases I’ll be happy to answer sabi ko na meron na naman akong kaso sa ICC e di ipatong na ninyo para isang sagutan nalang pagdating ng panahon. But as I hate to say these words being the president ultimately, I am responsible for the safety and well being of every Filipino and that is why my orders are to restrain them” Duterte said.
The chief executive adds that arrest will not be immediate and should be subjected to due process. (TDT)
