The Philippines authorities have ended the use of face shields in areas under alert level 3 and lower.
The areas include Metro Manila which is currently under Alert Level 2 until November 30.

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the nixing of the mandatory use of face shields in areas under Alert Levels 1, 2, and 3.
According to a memorandum issued by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea to the government’s pandemic task force the face shields will remain mandatory in community settings for areas under Alert Level 5. The level 5 is the highest classification in the government’s five-tier alert level system.

In areas under Alert Level 4, local government units and private establishments will have the discretion on the use of face shields. (AW)
