Celebrity couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo apparently had plans to have their child through surrogacy prior to finding out that Jennylyn was actually pregnant.
According to the couple, they flew to the United States where they found a surrogate mother for their child. The embryo was supposed to be injected to the surrogate mother in October, but Mercado began showing signs of pregnancy.
“So, meron na kaming isang perfect na embryo ta’s kailangan na lang namin maghanap ng perfect din na surrogate na magca-carry nu’n,” Trillo said in the interview with MEGA Magazine.

“Nakilala na namin ‘yung surrogate, mababait sila, tapos magpipirmahan na lang kami ng kontrata and iiinject na lang ‘yung embryo sa kanya ngayong October dapat,” Trillo added.
It was during Mercado’s quarantine for a lock-in taping that she began to show signs of pregnancy such as headaches and mood swings.
“Pagdating ko sa taping, sa set — kasi may kanya-kanyang villa naiyak na naman ako; ‘yung parang naiyak ako sa sobrang ganda. ‘Di ko maintindihan!” Mercado said.

The couple announced their engagement the same day they disclosed the pregnancy to the public.
Mercado and Trillo are celebrating their seventh year as a couple.
Mercado has one child, Alex Jazz, with her ex-boyfriend, actor Patrick Garcia. Trillo, meanwhile, also has a son, Calix, with his ex-girlfriend, beauty queen Carlene Aguilar. (NM)
