Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar has resigned from his post. Villar made the announcement in a flag-raising ceremony on Monday.
“Ito na yung huling flag raising ko as DPWH secretary,” Villar said.

“Today is my last day after five years. I’ve officially, I’ve filed my resignation effective Wednesday. I’ll be stepping down on Wednesday as your secretary,” he added.
The resignation will take effect on Wednesday. Villar did not disclose his reason for his resignation.
The son of billionaires Manny and Cynthia Villar has been named as one of the senatorial bets of PDP-Laban.
Harry Roque, Salvador Panelo, and anti-corruption commission chairperson Greco Belgica were also among cabinet secretaries rumored to be running for a senate seat. (TDT)
