Olalia said, “In the Middle East, it is the same. The demand for our nurses is also high in countries such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Qatar, Kuwait.”
He said employers abroad are also looking for Filipino skilled workers and seafarers and in the seafaring industry the demand was good for those employed in the cargo vessels, transport vessels, petroleum vessels while cruise ships were slowly opening up.
Olalia said the deployment of Filipino workers overseas is slowly improving this year despite the pandemic and the comparison of the figures with the deployment last year and current one on a month-to-month basis shows an increase while there was a 74 percent decrease last year.
