Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday called upon the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) to immediately issue vaccination cards to fully vaccinated Filipino migrant workers to enable them to begin their jobs abroad.
This came after reports of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) being unable to return to work due to a lack of vaccination cards issued by local governments.

“Ilang ulit na natin sinabi sa programa natin ang unified na database para sa buong bansa. Kasi kung walang isang database…, ang daming mga instances na buhay pala, napatay,” she said.
The Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) issues yellow cards or “International Certificate of Vaccine and Prophylaxis” for travelers bound for countries requiring proof that they have been fully vaccinated.

The travelers are required to go through the BOQ’s online booking system, upload required documents like a copy of valid ID and COVID-19 vaccination card, and pay a processing fee worth Php300 with a Php70 convenience fee. Robredo has reiterated her call for a national unified database for vaccination. (AW)
