The UAE has donated 100,000 doses of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine to the Philippines on Wednesday, August 11.
An Etihad plane took the shipment from Abu Dhabi and landed in Manila around 1:55 pm. Ths shipment was received by Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor and UAE embassy Acting Chargé d’Affaires Khalid Alhajeri, together with other officials.
The Sinopharm vaccine is among the approved COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines for emergency use. It was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in June 2021 and by the World Health Organization in May 2021.
