Some 41 areas in the country are now under the highest COVID-19 alert classification, the Department of Health (DOH) announced Wednesday.
Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire said areas placed under Alert Level 4 are those whose risk classification has reached moderate to critical risk and whose utilization rate of either their total COVID-19 or ICU bed utilization are more than 70 percent.

As of August 9, the health official said that 58.3 percent of COVID-19 beds in the country are already full, reported ABS-CBN News.

As of August 10, there are 79,016 active COVID-19 cases in the country, among all the 1,676,156 total confirmed cases.
The recovery count and death toll, meanwhile, stand at 1,567,920 and 29,220, respectively.
