Controversial vlogger Nas Daily and his Nas Academy denied accusations that they they are exploiting tattoo legend Apo Whang-Od.
This is contrary to the claims of the granddaughter of the Kalinga tattoo legend that Whang-Od did not agree on teaching online with Nas Daily.
The academy said that Whang-Os her family “loved” the idea of an academy after their team pitch.
A video of the actual contract signing showed the 104-year-old being assisted by her niece, Estella Palangdao.
“Her and her family present both loved this idea, and have worked WITH US to build it, with Whang-Od teaching herself,” Nas Academy said.
“As a matter of fact, Whang-Od’s trusted niece, Estella Palangdao, was present and translated the content of the contract prior to Whang-Od affixing her thumbprint, signifying her full consent to the project,” the statement added.
The online platform said that this was the evidence to show that the online course was not a scam.
“WARNING!!! Whang Od Academy is a scam. My grandmother did not sign any contract with @NasDaily to do any academy. Some people are taking advantage of our culture. PLEASE HELP US STOP this disrespect to the legacy of Apo Whang Od and the Butbot Tribe,” Whang-Od’s granddaughter Grace said in a Facebook post. (TDT)
