Former Senator Bongbong Marcos said that he will seek the presidency in 2022 if he will find solid support for him to win.
Marcos said that he will run for the presidency if pre-election surveys are consistent on the ground.
The son of former president Ferdinand Marcos runs second or third in surveys after Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

“It is the usual circumstances. If there is a support for you, you have a vice president, senators, governors, mayors, you look at that,” he said in an online briefing intended to give updates on COVID-19 response.
“Alliances have also become very important, and so I tend to go to grassroots, talk to the leaders. Mataas ka sa survey, titignan mo, totoo ba ‘yan? Kailangan alamin mo sa local leaders,” he said.
Marcos admitted that it’s difficult to run without the support from local leaders.

“If you have all of thatand there is a way to win, you can run. Until that is clear, it would be premature to make a decision,” Marcos said.
“The filing of candidacy is still in October,” he added.
Marcos lost to Vice President Leni Robredo in the 2016 elections. (TDT)
