The province of Bataan has reported a total of 14 Delta variant cases on Tuesday.
Six of them were considered recovered patients, according to Governor Albert Garcia.
He said five of the first six index cases were laborers from Mariveles while the other one came from Limay.

As of Monday, eight more cases of the new variant were identified including an overseas Filipino worker from Balanga City.
“Official total natin sa Delta variant sa lalawigan ay 14 (The official total Delta variant cases in the province is 14),” Garcia said.
He said the Inter-Agency Task Force has recommended a 14-day granular lockdown in Barangays Biaan, Balon Anito and Camaya in Mariveles where there is a high number of active COVID-19 cases.

Garcia said contact tracing and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing are ongoing.
“Do not panic,” the governor said in a social media post on Tuesday.
