A Filipino household service worker was rescued by authorities from her abusive employer in Kuwait.
The migrant worker identified as ‘Leah’ said her former employer sold her to her current one.
‘Leah’ said she was abused by her employer for months before she was rescued.

She said the abuse began when she refused to surrender her phone to her employer.
The OFW added that her employer hold her neck and chest when she was caught talking to her children on phone.
The said incident happened three times because she wouldn’t give her phone up.
Leah said she could not return to the Philippines because she didn’t have enough money to do so.

To make the matter worse, her former employer did not pay for her requirements so she can go back home.
“Hindi nga po namin pinapaalam sa magulang ko kasi ang nanay ko baka magalala na naman. Gusto ko lang po talagang makauwi,” she said adding that her children also begged for her to return home.
Leah is currently safe and sheltered at the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Kuwait. (RA)
