Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez said that another batch of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines will arrive on June 29, Tuesday.
In a Monday briefing, Galvez said that some 99,600 doses of Moderna vaccines will be arriving in the country and these will be given to the OFW and seafarer priority group.
“Before the end of the month, the additional doses of Moderna will arrive. We will give these to OFWs and seafarers as promised. And also for the frontliners. Our different government employees really need these,” Galvez said.
This is the second batch of Moderna vaccines to arrive in the country this month.
The Philippine government has procured at least 20 million doses of vaccines from Moderna.
Around 13 million were purchased by the national government while 7 million doses were ordered by the private sector.
Galvez is optimistic that the vaccines will arrive within the year.
