Some friends of former President Noynoy Aquino disclosed that he was preparing for a kidney transplant before he died on June 24.
Former public works and highways secretary Rogelio Singson told ABS-CBN that Aquino underwent angioplasty and dialysis as part of his preparation for the transplant.
Singson said that Noynoy was just waiting for a “compatible” kidney donor.

“That was last time, but prior to that mahilig sa steak si boss… that happened in the last several months, nitong pandemic ‘di na namin nabisita,” Singson said.
Former BIR Commissioner Kim Henares said that it took a long time before they convinced Aquino to undergo the procedure.
Aquino’s friends said that he liked fatty food, sugary drinks and a smoker.

Senator Kiko Pangilinan said that Aquino had a kidney failure last 2019 where he was brought to the intensive care unit.
“Sunod-sunod na. Hypertension also, I understand… the stresses I guess of his 6 years in office, and after which he stepped down he was still okay for the first 2 or 3 years. And then ayun na nga, the hypertension, diabetes, and the kidney malfunction,” he said. (TDT)
