The Philippine government is preparing a digital identification system that will serve as proof that an individual has received a COVID-19 vaccine.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) common vaccination digital ID with QR code.
The said digital vaccination ID will have a system wherein the vaccine ID will be centralized and consolidated in digital form.

Currently, local government units (LGUs) are issuing their respective vaccination cards. Each card will contain the name of the recipient of the COVID-19 jab, the brand of the vaccine administered, the date of inoculation, and possible side effects of the vaccine.
Depending on the LGUs, the card may also have a QR code unique to the recipient of the vaccine.
Nograles furthered the InterAgency Task Force on COVID-19 (IATF) is discussing the advantages as well as incentives or possible new protocols that will be introduced for fully vaccinated individuals.

He added that waiving RT-PCR tests for tourist trips is one of the incentives being considered for fully vaccinated Filipinos.
Meanwhile, the cabinet official said the small committee lead by the Department of Foreign Affairs has been tasked to find ways to verify the vaccination of Filipinos who are vaccinated abroad as well as those foreign travelers.
The proposal is expected to be presented within the week. (RA)
