Inday Sara: No Duterte-Duterte tandem in 2022 national elections

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio revealed on Tuesday that some of her allies have asked her to rethink her plans for the 2022 presidential elections.

Sara said she has no plans of seeking the presidency in 2022.

“Well nag-decide na ako nung January. I was asked to extend it till April 30, then by April 30 I was asked to extend it till July. So July binigyan ako ng HNP (Hugpong ng Pagbabago) governors until July to decide,” she told ABS-CBN News.

The presidential daughter also maintained that there will be no such thing as a Duterte-Duterte tandem in 2022, with her father running as her Vice President.

“It will never happen that merong Duterte-Duterte… sinabi naman na ni PRRD kung ano ‘yung mga reasons niya kung bakit ayaw niya ako tumakbong president,” she said.

President Rodrigo Duterte said that he has yet to see anyone who can replace him as president after his term ends in 2022.

Duterte made the pronouncement in an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

“Wala ako nakikita na deserving,” he said.

The President even discouraged his own daughter to run for president.

“Kinausap ko talaga kagabi. ‘Do not run. Do not ever, ever commit the mistake of running for presidency,'” Duterte said.

Duterte added that there was nothing rewarding in presidency. “Puro ka na lang trabaho diyan,” he said.

Duterte, however, told Quiboloy that he would make an endorsement when the time comes.
