The Philippine government will hold a ceremonial vaccination of essential workers on Monday, June 7.
The ceremonial vaccination will be held at SM Mall of Asia Arena. The move signals the government’s next phase of the vaccination program.

“It’s basically a symbolic rollout. Ang mangyayari dito it’s a pledging ceremony that both LGUs and private sector will commit–kasama namin dyan to really do our best to inoculate as fast as possible,” Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion told ABS-CBN News.
Concepcion said that the private sector is ready to vaccinate essential workers but there is a problem in the supply of COVID-19 vaccines.
An initial 1.17 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines are expected to arrive in July intended for the economic frontliners and the private sector.

Another 1.17 million doses are expected to arrive some time in August, added Concepcion.
The Philippine government aims to vaccinate 500,000 Filipinos daily to achieve herd immunity by November 27. (TDT)
