His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 553 prisoners of different nationalities from Dubai’s correctional and punitive establishments on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The gesture was part of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s humanitarian initiative to give the inmates a second chance in life and help strengthen family ties.
Attorney General of Dubai Chancellor HE Essam Issa Al Humaidan said this move reflects the Vice President’s keenness to reunite the pardoned individuals with their families during the Holy Month.
This, he added, allows the released prisoners to reintegrate into the community.
Dubai Public Prosecution, in collaboration with Dubai Police, has already commenced the legal procedures to implement His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s order.
