The emirate of Sharjah witnessed a surge in newly-employed personnel after 73 job seekers began working for various government departments, authorities and institutions from January to February 2021, through the efforts of Sharjah’s Directorate of Human Resources.
This is in line with the directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah that seeks to employ 1,000 citizens across the entire emirate this 2021.
Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, Member of Sharjah Executive Council stated that this wave of employment for Emirati nationals is part of Sheikh Sultan’s decisions to support and enhance the competitive edge of local hires in the labor market.

Part of the initiatives that made this job employment for 73 individuals possible is the management of virtual job interviews done via WebEx to make it more convenient both for the job seeker and government entities in line with the prevailing precautionary measures to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
Positions filled include structural engineers, inspectors, contract coordinators, duty officers, proof-readers, academic accreditation co-ordinators, housing supervisors, procurement executives, accountant, archive clerks, legal researchers, museum guides, civil engineers, subscription observers, receivables auditors, e-services officers, computer programmers and medical staff secretaries.

Government entities that joined the wave of Emiratization include the Sharjah City Municipality, Sharjah International Airport Authority, Sharjah Police General Headquarters, Al Qasimia University, Sharjah Documentation and Archive Authority, Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey, Sharjah Government Legal Department, The Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, Sharjah Healthcare Authority, Sharjah Social Security Fund, E-Government Department, Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, Sharjah Old Cars Club, Social Services Department, Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Labor Standards Development Authority, Ruler’s Office, Roads and Transport Authority, Department of Government Relations, Directorate of Human Resources, Sharjah Heritage Institute, Real Estate Registration Department, Department of Public Works and Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
