An Asian traveler was given a 10-year imprisonment after he was caught with illegal drugs inside his stomach in an attempt to smuggle them into Dubai. The man was also fined AED50,000 for the offense.
In a report by Gulf Today, customs officers spotted the man acting suspiciously upon arriving in the country.
The man was then asked to undergo a body scanner.
Customs officers then found strange objects in the man’s stomach. The strange objects were found to be 86 capsules of drugs weighing 560 grams.
The man later admitted that he was going to smuggle the drugs to deliver it to another man in exchange for $1000 (AED3,672+).
In another drug trafficking case, an Asian man was sentenced to a five-year imprisonment and was fined AED20,000 for facilitating drugs to his accomplice friend.
Police initially arrested a man who was caught possessing illegal drugs. They later found out that the illegal drugs were supplied by the Asian man.
Police ended up arresting the two men, who were later slapped with drug trafficking charges. (CC)
