The Philippines will receive 30 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from Novavax by July 2021 to help the country provide a vaccine against the viral disease for over 100 million Filipinos.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. assured that the Philippines will secure millions of doses as per information from the Serum Institute of India.

“Thirty million dosages of the Indian-made Novavax vaccines are assured possibly with no cash advance. It will be available by July 2021,” said Locsin said in an interview with CNN Philippines.
Locsin also stated the possibility for the terms of the Novavax deal to be signed before the end oF the year.

Apart from the Novavax deal, the Philippines also plans to buy 25 million more doses from China’s Sinovac Biotech by March, apart from the signed supply deal of 2.6 million shots of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca.
The government also aims to secure around four to 25 million doses of vaccines from Moderna and Arcturus Therapeutics Holdings Inc. with talks scheduled by next week.
