His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, toured the Hatta region on Friday, in a bid to promote the UAE’s Strategy for Domestic Tourism, which aims to develop a comprehensive scheme to enhance the local tourism sector.
On his official Twitter account, the Vice President wrote: “From my tour today in Hatta. Tourism in the homeland is a support for the people of the homeland, and exploring the homeland is an exploration of identity, its roots, and ancestors.”
His Highness added: “My tourism is in my country. My country is the most beautiful. My country is the sweetest. My country has the warmest feeling. May God protect my country, the Emirates.”
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid approved the UAE Strategy for Domestic Tourism last week, which is a new unified tourism scheme that is part of the UAE Nation Brand, which targets to establish the country’s global position as an ideal tourist destination as well as to share its inspiring story with the world.
Ultimately, the new tourism strategy aims to promote the seven emirates as a single tourist destination with diverse attractions, in order to provide more opportunities for the UAE residents.
His Highness said, “The UAE Strategy for Domestic Tourism marks the beginning of unifying our efforts and coordinating our capabilities towards harnessing all of our tourism resources in the best possible way. Today, we are launching the first of many campaigns to develop this vital sector of our economy.”
The first nationwide tourism campaigns unveiled under this strategy was titled “World’s Coolest Winter”, a 45-day campaign, overseen by the Ministry of Economy and formed in collaboration with local tourism entities and supported by the UAE Government Media Office, aims to highlight the major landmarks and attractions that distinguish every emirate.
During the launch of the campaign last December, a video campaign was launched on social media. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid tweeted: “The UAE hosts an exceptional winter and offers the best services that tourists can utilise inside and outside the country.”
“Winter brings great moments and experiences. Like everything else in the UAE, we aim to make every winter the best in the world,” the Vice President added.
