The Philippines’ Bureau of Immigration has banned its employees from doing TikTok videos while wearing the agency’s uniform.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said posting videos on the social media app Tiktok undermines the integrity of the bureau’s official uniform.
Morente also added that doing TikTok videos violated the policy of not using mobile phones while in their work area.
“Our policy on the wearing of the BI uniform is clear. As public servants and supposed model Filipinos, employees must proudly wear their uniform at all times, present a professional image to the public and observe proper decorum and good taste in all their actions while they are on duty,” Morente said in a statement.
Employees who will continue to violate the ban may face insubordination and conduct prejudicial to the interest of service charges.
Morente made the statement after videos of Immigration employees doing different TikTok videos surfaced online. (TDT)
