More than 120,000 cyber-attacks have been prevented by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) last month, July, according to the authority’s monthly report.
Of this number, 78 percent were malware, 11 percent vulnerability-related cyber-attacks, and 11 percent phishing attacks.
The National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) reported that it also dealt with 181 cyber incidents.
The CERT was established to improve practices of information security, and protect the IT infrastructure in the UAE from risks and violations, in conformity with the TRA strategy that aims at supporting and ensuring a safer cyberspace for the residents of the UAE.
Meanwhile, up to 3,479 people benefited from the awareness workshops organized by the TRA.
