LOOK: List of areas under MECQ from August 4 to August 18

Following calls from the medical community, President Rodrigo Duterte has placed Metro Manila and other areas in Luzon under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from August 4 to 18.

In a press briefing on August 3, the president has declared that he has agreed to heed the call of the healthcare sector for Metro Manila and other provinces in Luzon to be placed again under MECQ due to the rising number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases. This is so the frontliners can have time to rest and “recalibrate strategies” against the pandemic.

The areas placed under MECQ for two weeks are as follows:

– Metro Manila

– Bulacan

– Cavite

– Laguna

– Rizal

In addition, the Manila Archdiocese have announced that they will not hold public religious activities for two weeks, while Metro Manila courts—including those in National Capital Judicial Region and in areas under MECQ—will be temporarily shut down until August 14 following the directive of Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta.

Peralta ordered for the courts to be available through their respective contact details and social media platforms as posted on the website of the Supreme Court.

Reports also noted that the Senate plans to implement a two-week ECQ.integration outlookintegration word
