The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) revealed that the remains of two Filipinos killed by the recent Houthi attack are still inside the ship and salvaging operations of the ship will happen this weekend.
DMW chief Hans Cacdac said that these operations could lead to the retrieval and recovery of the remains of the two Filipinos.
Ang term doon sa report ay ‘engulfed in flames’ yung lugar kung nasaan yung dalawang nasawi,” said Cacdac in a GMA News interview.
Cacdac said the Indian Navy would return to the area where the ship was attacked at the Red Sea and hopefully recover the remains of two Filipinos.
The DMW chief said that the ship is still in the area where the attack happened.
Three Filipinos have been injured and around the area where the attack happened while 10 sailors were unharmed and were placed into a hotel in Dijibouti.
It’s still unclear if the Filipinos will be repatriated following the attack. There were 15 Filipinos who were aboard the ship.
