UAE Hope Probe: An impetus towards aspirations among Filipino-Emiratis

UAE’s Hope Probe brings with it a new milestone for the country, along with hopes and dreams of the youth and the nation as a whole, including the Filipino-Emiratis of this generation.

The Philippine Embassy in the UAE organized a simple online gathering led by H.E. Amb. Hjayceelyn Quintana together with several Filipino-Emiratis who have expressed their optimism and eagerness to witness what the UAE will be capable of after fulfilling their leap towards space.

“The Filipinos are rooting for UAE as they embark on this journey of hope that shows what their collective aspirations can achieve, not only for themselves but also for the whole of humanity. Mabuhay ang UAE!,” said Amb. Quintana.

Vision towards space

Fahed AlBlooshi, popularly known on social media as the Emaratino Traveller, said that the Emirates Mars Mission stems from the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God rest his soul).

“His vision to reach the skies all the way to space for us to achieve or come close to that, it makes us really proud. At the time when I was studying aerospace engineering, that was the time when people were pushing their students to do engineering: electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering. So you’ve got lots of students who went abroad to study so if you think about it, gradually the plan was there ever since, and Alhamdilulah now you are seeing the results. You are seeing things are blooming and that’s what makes us proud as a community for citizens and also for residents here,” said AlBlooshi.

Symbol of hope

Mariam Al Shamsi said that the UAE’s success towards launching the Hope Probe towards space is a symbol of hope for her four children. She expressed her confidence that the UAE will continue to prove that there’s no such thing as ‘impossible’ in the UAE’s dictionary.

“The UAE is a land of vision. I am still looking forward for what the UAE can do. I am very proud as what I tell my children is that there’s nothing impossible in this world, if you aim for it, you can do it. As a mother of Emirati children I am looking forward for more and I really support whatever our country is doing and I’m just hoping that one of my children will be part of that innovation and success in the future for UAE,” said Al Shamsi.

Goal-setting towards success

Amira Mohammad Almadani shared that the UAE has proven to the world its prowess in the field of science, technology and innovation despite the country’s age of less than five decades. She said that this proves that pushing towards achievements is possible under a united vision.

“Especially for younger generations – it’s amazing that a country younger than 50 years achieves so much and also we’re now about to achieve a vision that was a dream so long ago so I’m very excited! It also shows you that it’s just a matter of time to achieve something if you have a goal or certain plan in mind,” said Almadani.

Shattering stereotypes

Mariam Albelooshi says that the UAE has gone a long way in breaking stereotypical norm. She furthered that the country has proven to the world that it is a seat for progress, innovation, and technological transformation.

“Ever since I was younger, my main focus is to break stereotypes. And that’s all I ever wanted to do since I was a kid. I’m very grateful that I belong to a country that does that in anything and every project – that when you think about it, it’s always breaks stereotypes about the Gulf, about Emiratis, about Arabs, about women even – everything! So this project means a lot to me in that sense,” said Albelooshi.
