Why the UAE is hailed as one of the world’s best places for expats

The UAE has, for the longest time, always been considered one of the most preferred destinations of expats in terms of residence and career development. Over 200 nationalities live in this country with a unique harmony, advancing their careers and businesses, and helping the nation’s economy further prosper.
In fact, in a survey conducted by HSBC—a British multinational investment bank and financial services holding company—the country is considered one of the top places to work, as answered by over 22,000 respondents.
The survey also stated that because of the bountiful opportunities that await in the UAE, seven in 10 people said they would definitely recommend the country for those looking for opportunities abroad.
There are indeed a lot of reasons the UAE has maintained its position as the ideal place for millions of expats. However, here some of those that stand out as major factors as to why they choose the country their second home:

The UAE has always advocated tolerance, a reason they have made 2019 its national Year of Tolerance. Efforts and various initiatives have been made in hopes of eradicating discrimination of all types and in all kinds of environments. Some of these include allowing for the celebration of various cultural events and programs of over 200 nationalities, policy-oriented objectives that mandate cultural and religious tolerance in the workplace and in school, as well as tolerance-targeted media campaigns.

The UAE offers some of the world’s best programs in terms of providing security for its residents. Earlier this year, the country ranked the safest in the world according to studies released at the 12th International Symposium for Police Best Practices, with 96.1 percent of people stating that they feel safe to walk outside even late at night.
Its capital, Abu Dhabi, is also hailed as the world’s safest city, according to research by data collecting website Numebo—surpassing 300 cities in the world including Tokyo, Munich, and Vienna. Its safety index reached 88.26 percent in the first half of 2019.

According to the survey by HSBC, most of the residents feel that the UAE provides them endless opportunities to improve their quality of life. Around two-thirds of the expat respondents also said that they are given chances to progress in their career, as well as increase their earnings, and therefore their ability to pay off debts and even save for the future.
