Bayanihan Council to hold 2019 Philippine Independence Day celebrations in Abu Dhabi

The Bayanihan Council in Abu Dhabi, the umbrella organization of the Filipino organizations in the emirate, is now underway with their plans for the upcoming 121st Philippine Independence Day Celebrations (PIDC) in the capital that is expected to take place at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater Theater this coming June 21.

Banking on the success of the celebrations last year, this year’s celebration will kick it up a notch with an array of events that the organization is planning for thousands of Filipinos that will converge at the annual event.

“May mga twists tayo compared to last year. Ngayon, nakapag level up tayo when it comes to the program and events. I asked participating organizations to come up with ideas and concepts during the event to promote and bring forth the brand of modern Global Filipinos,” said Elmer Casao, Bayanihan Chairman who also serves as this year’s Chairman of the 121st PIDC in Abu Dhabi.

Included in the line-up of events are Bayanihan Council holds 2019 Philippine Independence Day celebrations in Abu Dhabi the parade and opening ceremonies that will celebrate the Philippines’ cultural dances, Himig Pinoy – a singing competition, as well as Abu Dhabi’s annual Mutya ng Kasarinlan, the beauty contest that celebrates the beauty, brains, and charisma of a true Filipina.

There will also be contests pertaining to arts and photography as well as a photo exhibit that will showcase award winning photos of Filipinos in the UAE.

Beach Fiesta for Filipinos

To start the PIDC on a high note, Filipinos are also invited to the Kabayan Beach Fiesta, as the Bayanihan Council in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with Yas Waterworld, will give a heavily discounted price of just Dh 55 per person! Filipinos can enjoy Yas Waterworld’s 40 worldclass rides, slides and attractions.

The venue will also be hosting a live Filipino music village as well as an immersive experience with Sari-sari stores as well as traditional cultural performances.

Filipinos who want to belt out their favorite tunes can also enjoy their Karaoke beach club, available in English and Tagalog.
