Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has shared her thoughts on the questions asked to the Miss Universe Philippines candidates during its live coronation night on Saturday, April 30.
Gray, who was not able to attend the finals night due to prior commitments, monitored the event online and shared her excitement to name the new queen.
“I wish the girls were given more difficult questions. Feeling ko kayang-kaya nila,” Gray said.
Although she was not present, a taped video of her was played during the finals night. Three Miss Universe winners were the hosts of the coronation night.

Some netizens agreed with Gray saying the questions were simple and the candidates were not able to shine during the question and answer question.
“Same feeling. I felt they weren’t able to shine because of the questions that they got. Like Pasay, for one, had the same answers from a chat with Pia and final Q&A,” a Twitter user commended.
“Exactly! I mean, nothing against the organization since it’s how and what they plan. But it could’ve been very exciting to see how they answer tough questions. In addition, we’re talking about [the] Miss Universe title at the end of the day. Competitions supply more difficult questions than what they’ve given to the girls during the finals. Just saying,” another one added.
Filipina-Italian Celeste Cortesi bagged this year’s Miss Universe Philippines crown in a grand coronation night held in Pasay City, Saturday.
Miss Makati Michelle Dee is named Miss Universe Philippines Tourism and Miss Bohol Pauline Amelinckx as Miss Universe Philippines Charity.
Miss Misamis Oriental Annabelle McDonnell is the 1st runner-up while Miss Taguig Katrina Llegado is the 2nd runner-up.

Cortesi bagged the Best in Swimsuit award while Dee won the Best in Evening Gown.
She will replace Beatrice Luigi Gomez who placed in the Top 5 of the 70th Miss Universe competition.
In the question and answer round, the 24-year-old model was asked about what she would do if she could stop time for a day.
“If I could stop time, I would spend it with my family, especially with my mother. It’s been two years since I’ve seen my family because they live in Italy and I came here in the Philippines just by myself. So if I had the chance to spend one day, I would definitely be with my mom and I would just tell her how much I love her and I miss her,” she said.
Cortesi also won the Miss Earth Philippines title in 2018.
