Actor Richard Yap is seeking a seat in the House of Representatives in the national elections.
Yap, through his wife, filed his certificate of candidacy to represent the 1st District of Cebu City.
Yap also ran for a congressional seat in 2019 but lost to Raul del Mar.
In 2019, he ran under the ruling PDP-Laban party. However, it remains unclear whether he will run as an independent candidate in next year’s elections or under a political party.
The actor is best known for his character “Sir Chief” in ABS-CBN’s noontime drama ‘Please Be Careful with My Heart’. (NM)
