Escaping the imagery of the policeman who shot a mother and son point-blank in front of their home in Tarlac can be nearly impossible, especially as the brutal incident captured on video has spread like wildfire on social media.
For Kapamilya comedian and host Vice Ganda, it triggered his own trauma over the slay of his father, who was gunned down just outside their house in Manila back in 1991.
Vice Ganda’s father was a barangay captain in Manila at that time. His father’s killer remains at large.
“Natulala ako matapos ko mapanuod ung video,” the comedian said on Twitter.
“Bumalik yung trauma ko. Bumalik lahat ng pilit ko ng ibinabaon na alaala. Ung putok ng baril. Ung itsura nung tatay ko na parang baboy na sinasakay sa jeep. Ung mukha ng demonyo. Ang bigat ng nararamdaman ko,” he added.

His only wish for the family of the slain victims is to get swift justice: “Sana’y wag silang magaya sa pamilya namin na namanhid na lang sa tagal ng paghihintay ng katarungan. Sana wala ng makaranas ng kasamaang ito.”
