WATCH: David Blaine ascends over 25,000 feet towards Arizona’s skies with balloons

David Blaine, a world-renowned illusionist and daredevil, amazed audiences around the globe once again with another seemingly impossible feat when he soared to the sky using only helium balloons.

The illusionist managed to soar as high as 24,900 feet over the desert airstrip in Arizona. This altitude similar to the heights that most commercial airplanes fly before he detached himself from the balloons.

“It’s like magic, it feels like I’m floating in the air,” said the 47-year-old daredevil during the event he called “Ascension” which was livestreamed on YouTube.

Blaine now holds a record in YouTube as the ‘most-watched YouTube Originals live event’ with over 770,000 viewers in a single livestream.

The daredevil stated that he prepared over two years for this event, eventually becoming a licensed pilot in the process.

Blaine’s previous daredevil stunts include trapping himself in a block of ice for two days in Times Square, standing freely atop a thin pillar at New York City for 35 hours, and locking himself in a fishbowl, to name a few.
