Apart from the issue involving Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, some celebrities also shared their thoughts on President Rodrigo Duterte’s statement to shoot people who will cause chaos and trouble especially those from leftist groups.

My orders are sa pulis at military, pati mga barangay. Na kapag may gulo, okasyon na lumaban at buhay ninyo ay nalagay sa alanganin, shoot them dead,” Duterte said.

Liza Soberano was among the celebrities who voiced their opinion on the statement.

“What our people need now is empathy, not threats,” Liza said in a tweet.

“Virus pa rin ba ang kalaban dito? Nasaan na ang konkretong plano?” TV host Gretchen Ho added.

Kapuso actress Lauren Young also aired her opinion, saying that the government should be more focused on helping people not scaring them.

Takot na nga yung mga tao because of this virus. Their own government is depriving them of food, their officials are MIA, one was parading about without following guidelines and you have the nerve to scare them even more with violence? WHY? How is that helpful?” she said.

Some solid Duterte supporters bashed the actress for expressing her thoughts on the issue.

“You can call me laos, starlet or pokpok all you want ‘cos of how I tweet my opinions about our government. But he sought after this position — and I don’t agree with what’s happening. Sorry if the truth hurts but you can’t deny it especially when it’s staring right at your face, Lauren said.
