Enchong Dee slams ‘political grandstanding’: ‘May nangamusta na ba sa atin?’

Actor Enchong Dee called out what he described as “political grandstanding” in the country, urging attention back to the struggles of ordinary Filipinos.

In a post on Instagranm, the actor shared a quote from American politician-lawyer Steve Bullock, which read: “Political grandstanding might make for great soundbites for the evening news, but it will do nothing to help the people.”

He added in his caption: Nakakahiya naman sa sambayanang Pilipino… Kamusta na kaya kalagayan ng kababayan natin? May nangamusta na ba satin?”

Dee also tagged the Senate of the Philippines in the post, which many social media users linked to recent developments inside the chamber.

While the actor did not name anyone, his remarks came amid heightened public discussion involving Senators Pia Cayetano and Risa Hontiveros following a tense exchange after a reported shooting incident at the Senate premises.

Cayetano earlier expressed emotional distress over the incident, saying she felt fear during the event and lamenting that some colleagues allegedly failed to check on their condition.

Senator Erwin Tulfo, however, said several lawmakers did reach out through their group chat after the incident, contradicting claims that no one expressed concern.

Dee’s post has since sparked online discussion on political behavior and public service priorities.
