Overseas Filipino workers and returning migrant workers can now enjoy free guided tours and heritage experiences in Intramuros under the week-long “Pasyal Pamilya” program launched by the government.
The initiative, running from May 25 to 31, offers free access to Fort Santiago and the Centro de Turismo Intramuros for eligible OFWs and returning migrant workers.
Participants may also bring up to four companions upon presentation of a valid Overseas Employment Certificate or OWWA ID.
The program officially opened on Monday, with 35 OFWs and 24 family companions from Region III, Region IV-A, and the National Capital Region joining the first day of activities.
Participants were given guided tours around Intramuros as part of efforts to reconnect overseas workers and their families with Philippine history and culture.
The “Pasyal Pamilya” initiative is jointly organized by the Department of Tourism, Department of Migrant Workers, and Intramuros Administration in recognition of the contribution of Filipino migrant workers.
