Man proposes to his long-term girlfriend at KathNiel concert

The crowd went wild on the evening of December 1 as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) proposed to his girlfriend of 10 years during the concert of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in Dubai.

Ronn Vincent Abing Jumawan popped the question to long-term partner Kristine Mae Vidal in front of the crowd, after KathNiel performed to the tune of Padilla’s hit single “Mabagal.” According to Jumawan, he and the duo had already planned the entire thing before the show started.

Jumawan said he emailed Star Magic—the talent training subsidiary of ABS-CBN—months go to request if there is any way he can do the proposal on the concert of the famous love team in Dubai. The company responded and coordinated him with Bernardo and Padilla, who happily went along with the plan.

Vidal, on the other hand, said she did not sense anything and that she took Jumawan at his word when he told her he was going to a client meeting before the concert. The man, however, told the crowd there was no meeting and that he was actually with KathNiel to plan the surprise prior to the show.

As for their part of the plan, KathNiel falsely called for audience participation—particularly a couple—to slow-dance in front of the crowd while they sing “Mabagal.” They picked Jumawan and Vidal and when the song was done, he pulled out the ring and proposed.

KathNiel expressed their congratulations, and wished the couple a lifetime of happiness.

“Sa mga nagsasabing walang forever, hindi po ‘yun totoo and hindi ako naniniwala doon. Mayroon pong forever, and ang couple na ‘to ang living proof. Congratulations sa inyo!” said Bernardo.

Here is the video of the proposal:
