Mariah Carey is named as the number one female artist of all time by Billboard.
Mariah trails behind The Beatles in the first place, Rolling Stones in second place and Elton John as third on the Billboard chart.
“Happy anniversary Billboard! This acknowledgement means so much to me. Thank you for recognizing me with this achievement,” Mariah posted on her Instagram account.
The singer bested other iconic artists, such as Madonna who was in the 5th spot, Barbra Streisand in 6th, Michael Jackson in 7th, Taylor Swift in 8th, and Stevie Wonder in 9th.
Billboard listed 125 iconic artists in history as part of its 125th anniversary.
Mariah is the solo artist with the most No. 1 hits on the Hot 100, the only female artist to have three songs debut at No. 1 on that chart and the artist who has spent the most time at No. 1 for 79 total weeks.
