Singer Leah Navarro has been declared persona non grata by the General Santos City Council over her tweet saying that the Mindanao earthquakes were a “retribution.”
It all started when former Supreme Court spokesperson Theodore Te tweeted last week, saying: “What’s with all the earthquakes in Mindanao?”
Navarro replied by saying: “Retribution?”
Te has apologized about his tweet.
The resolution declaring Navarro persona non grata was “unanimously approved” by the city council.
Navarro also tweeted her apology.
“I apologized, deleted my tweet and regret the hurt I caused. It is their choice not to forgive. There’s nothing I can do about that,” Navarro tweeted.
