Dubai-based Filipino designers made waves in the annual charity gala ABS-CBN Ball with some of the biggest celebrities tapping them for their ‘Modern Filipiniana’ outfits.
Kathryn Bernardo and boyfriend Daniel Padilla wore Michael Cinco’s creations. Bernardo donned a fuchsia crystalized terno at the annual ball. The actress made a visit at Cinco’s atelier when she visited Dubai last month to promote her film ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’.
“Michael Cinco is a representation of Filipino pride, and I feel like this event is the perfect platform to showcase world class Philippine artistry,” Bernardo said in an interview with preview.ph.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was a scene stealer at ball. She wore a printed Filipiniana designed by Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer Ezra Santos of Ezra Couture.
The ‘Mayward’ loveteam of Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber opted another Dubai based designer ‘Furne One of Amato’.
The three Dubai-based designers received The Filipino Times Awards Fashion Designer of the Year in 2015.
Cinco and Santos received the much-coveted The Filipino Times’ Rizal Award.
