‘Bakit di niyo binigay nung buhay pa?’ Christopher de Leon on National Artist award for Eddie Garcia

Christopher ‘Boyet’ De Leon said that veteran actor Eddie Garcia deserves a ‘National Artist’ recognition.

He said it could have been better if the award was given when he was still alive.

“National Artist? Ba’t ‘di niyo binigay nu’ng buhay pa siya? ‘Di ba? He could have appreciated that when he was still alive, and now he’s up there beyond,” De Leon during his visit on the second day of Garcia’s wake.

The actor added that the veteran actor-director had all the credentials to be awarded as a National Artist.

Both actors worked together in the film ‘Tinimbang ka Ngunig Kulang’ where Garcia played as de Leon’s father.

Garcia died after being in a coma for two weeks due to a neck fracture. He was 90 years old.
