Even though they came from rival networks, some reporters from GMA still extended their congratulatory messages to ABS-CBN which will be celebrating its 65th anniversary in broadcasting next month.
Kapuso newscaster Raffy Tima has decided to set aside the ongoing “network wars” and greeted the Kapamilya network on its anniversary.
“Saludo at pagpupugay sa mga kaibigan kong Kapamilya.
“While we see you as competition, out in the field, we are one.
“Pagbati sa inyong anibersaryo at sa marami pang taon nang paglilingkod para sa bayan,” Tima said through his Facebook post.
Likewise, journalist Atom Araullo, who used to work for ABS-CBN, also posted on his Facebook account a short message for his former Kapamilya colleagues.
“Sending love and support to my family for over a decade. Your media colleagues have got your back,” Araullo said.
ABS-CBN has been considered as one of the biggest networks in the Philippines which can reach an international audience with their television, radio, film, online, and cable TV platforms.
However, it has not spared itself from a number of controversies.
It can be recalled that President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to block its franchise renewal next year because the network failed to air his campaign ad, which he already paid for, during the last presidential elections.
